CONTRIBUTED BY ASKEW CAMPAIGN
LAFAYETTE — LaFayette native Ebony Askew recently announced her candidacy for City Council, District D, under the campaign slogan: “Be the Change You Want to See.”
A 2005 graduate of LaFayette High School, Askew has dedicated her life to serving and uplifting her community through leadership and public service.
With a clear mission to serve the people of LaFayette, Askew said she is focused on supporting senior citizens, empowering youth and promoting transparency and decisive action in city leadership. Her deep roots in the community are reflected through her service as chairperson of the Head Start Policy Council for Chambers and Tallapoosa Counties, board member of the Community Action Committee Inc. and cheer director for LaFayette Parks & Recreation.
Since 2016, Askew has been a dedicated state employee through the Lee County District Attorney’s Office, where she applies her extensive knowledge of government policy and procedures.
She invites the community to join her for a meet-and-greet on Saturday, July 26, in the parking lot of Krave Corner. It will be an opportunity to connect, ask questions and share visions for LaFayette.
Askew is a devoted wife, mother, master barber stylist and a faithful member of New Mt. Sellers Missionary Baptist Church. She said she is committed to building a vibrant, inclusive city where every generation can thrive — by listening, advocating and taking decisive action if elected to District D.
