AUBURN — Auburn City Schools has named Amber Goolsby as the new principal of Wrights Mill Road Elementary School.

The Auburn City Schools Board of Education approved Goolsby for the position, continuing a career at Wrights Mill Road that has spanned more than a decade.

Goolsby began working for Auburn City Schools in 2013 as a fourth grade teacher at Wrights Mill Road Elementary. She became a Title I teacher in 2018 and was named assistant principal in October 2023.

She earned a bachelor’s degree from Auburn University, a master’s degree from Troy University and an Instructional Leadership Certificate from Auburn University.

Goolsby succeeds Dr. Peter Forster, who recently moved from principal of Wrights Mill Road Elementary to assistant superintendent of Auburn City Schools.

Joining Goolsby on the school’s leadership team will be Adam Keel, who will officially begin serving as assistant principal Sept. 1.

Keel previously served as a school counselor at J.F. Drake Middle School and most recently worked as both assistant principal and school counselor at Beulah High School.
