Walter Matthew Arnold passed away peacefully on April 8, 2021 surrounded by family and friends. He was born Sept. 20, 1970 in Opelika to Walter and Jane Arnold. He graduated Opelika High School in 1989. After graduation he moved to California where he was a model for Faces International before returning to Opelika.

He was a beloved hairdresser and salon owner in the area for more than twenty years.

He is survived by his fiancé Jade Dawson, sons Doss Arnold, James Dawson and his father Walter Arnold.

Matthew loved spending time with his friends and family. He had a passion for watching Doss play baseball and James play football. He and Jade would often travel great distances to cheer for them.

He coached youth baseball for many years and had a true love for the game. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed the outdoors. Gifted with a bright and energetic personality, he was known for his ability to sense when people just needed someone to listen. Matthew Arnold will forever be remembered for his kindness.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life 5 until 7 p.m., Sunday, April 18 at The Farm at Rocky Top located at 2910 County Road 145 in Salem.
