The Barbasol Golf Tournament, first held at Opelika’s Grand National Course last year, will be held next week, July 14-17. Many of the leading younger names of professional golf will be competing for shares in the $3.5 million purse.
Last year the Barbasol Tournament brought 50,000 visitors to the area and contributed an estimated $25 million to the local economy. Who says golf is not important?
To stage a tournament like this requires a lot of volunteers, and some more of them are still needed. Actually it is a pretty good deal for volunteers.
