Trinity’s vocal ensemble, the Trinity Singers, which includes students in grades six through 12, recently participated in the State Choral Performance Assessment in Tallassee.

The choral assessment, which is sponsored by the Alabama Vocal Association, gives scores from one to three, with one as the highest score.

The ensemble, directed by Amy Hawkins, performed two pieces, “Sing a Mighty Song!” and “Canon Gloria,” as well as a sight reading piece, in front of three judges and received a superior rating for all three selections.

Members of the Trinity Singers said that the experience is a good one for the group.

“It’s good practice to sing in front of a judge,” and, “It strengthens our sight reading skills as a group.”
