Taziki’s Mediterranean Cafe will bring a taste of Greek cuisine to Opelika later this month when it opens its doors in Tiger Town. The new restaurant will be located at 2119 Interstate Drive, Suite C4. A firm  date has yet to be finalized, but owner Jason Parkman said the restaurant will definitely open in December.
Taziki’s is known for its freshly prepared meats, seafood and gyros. “Opelika residents are going to love our menu full of original chef-driven recipes prepared daily from fresh ingredients,” Parkman said. “Taziki’s believes in creating delicious Mediterranean dishes, giving families healthy alternatives when dining out. Of course a lot of people are calorie counting these days, but the real truth is in the taste of our product and the quality of our food. People come in and they realize they’re eating something that is freshly prepared, healthier and better for them.”
According to information released by the restaurant, Taziki’s will make a donation to the Food Bank of East Alabama on its opening day. “We are dedicated to supporting the Opelika community and look forward to giving back in many ways,” said Parkman. “One in six East Central Alabama residents experiences food insecurity.  From a hungry child in an after-school program to a senior on a fixed income to a working family just trying to stretch a thin paycheck until the end of the month, the Food Bank of East Alabama strives to feed as many local residents in need as possible.”
Taziki’s Mediterranean Cafe was founded in 1997 and is headquartered in Birmingham. The restaurant currently has 49 locations in 13 states. Taziki’s Opelika will be open for lunch and dinner from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 11 a.m.-8 p.m. on Sundays.
