The Public Relations Department of Southern Union State Community College (SUSCC) earned three Medallion Awards from District 2 of the National Council of Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) for exemplary work in the field.

The NCMPR Medallion Awards are presented to top projects from two-year colleges throughout District 2 which includes institutions in Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Kentucky,  Louisiana, Mississippi,  North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands and the Bahamas. More than 300 entries were considered for recognition in more than 40 categories. Each category awarded a gold, silver and bronze distinction. 

The public relations team of Shondae Brown, public relations director, and Abra Camp, multi-media specialist, earned a gold Medallion for its admission acceptance folder; gold in the invitation category for the invitation to A Grave Affair; and a bronze in the novelty advertising category for the college’s congratulations mail out to area seniors.

SUSCC was one of only three Alabama Community Colleges to receive recognition. Gadsden State Community College and Wallace State Community College also earned awards.
