The Southern Union State Community College Theater Department will present its fall production on Oct. 20 and 21 in Brazeal Auditorium on the Wadley campus, and will present a special presentation on the Opelika campus on Oct. 28.

A series of short comic selections will be presented. Some are absurd, such as the rhythmic “Philip Glass”, while others tend toward the slightly decidedly dark, such as the humorous “Choices”.

According to Director of Theater Michael Williams, Jr., the variety of selections presented will offer something for everyone’s taste.

“Perhaps one of the best things about this evening is that if someone does not like something they only have to wait about five to 10 minutes for something else,” Williams said.

Selections presented will be: “DMV Tyrant” by Christopher Durang, “Choices” by James McLindon, “Funeral Parlor” by Chistopher Durang, “Rosa’s Eulogy” by Richard Strand and “Philip Glass Buys a Loaf of Bread” by David Ives.

And, for the first time, the theater department will “take the show on the road” and present a show on the Opelika Campus. The performance will be Thursday, Oct. 28, at 5 p.m. in the Health Sciences Building Room 104. The Opelika performance is free of charge.

General admission for the Wadley evening performances (Oct. 20 and 21) will be $5 with all SU students/faculty/staff admitted free with current ID. Tickets are available at the door.
