Robert Wayne Vickery, 71, of Auburn passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016.  He was born Feb. 14, 1945, in Okaloosa County, Fla., to Joe Thomas and Clara Lou Vickery.
Robert lived most of his life in Auburn.  He was a member and deacon at Pepperell Baptist Church, a member of the Cowboy Church of Lee County, was an ordained minister, and was actively serving as an associate minister of High Hope Baptist Church in Auburn.  He was devoted to serving the needs of others and served in missionary field with the Master Builders and the Tuskegee Lee Baptist Association Disaster Relief Team.  He was deeply loved by his family and friends.
Mr. Vickery was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Brenda Bunn Vickery; brother, David Vickery.  He is survived by his daughter Karen Self (Paul) of Smiths Station; son, Ken Vickery (Shannon); five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three brothers, Hayward Vickery of Wetumpka, Shelby Vickery (Linda) of Rutledge, Roy Vickery (Debbie) of Eufaula; two sisters-in-law, Sue Wheat of Camp Hill, and Julia Cargile (Charles) of Opelika
Visitation was 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016, at Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home with the funeral service at 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12, 2016, at Jeffcoat-Trant Chapel.  Interment followed in Garden Hills Cemetery.  Reverend Ken Vickery officiated.
