Regina Ruth Christian, 62, of Salem, Alabama, passed away on Aug. 27 after a brief illness.

Regina was born on May 6, 1959 to Carlton and Ruth Findley in Brewton, Alabama. After graduating from Flomaton High School in 1977, she went on to begin college at Jefferson Davis Junior College, where she met her future husband, Chris Christian. They married in August, 1978. They lived in Troy, Alabama while Chris pursued his college degree. While there, Chris and Regina were house parents for Alabama Baptist Children’s Home. They eventually settled in the Lee County community and joined Believers Church in 1989. She was a loving and supportive wife as Chris pursued his calling to become senior pastor of Fountain Gate Church in Columbus, Georgia. She is survived by her husband, Chris Christian, children and grandchildren: Bryant Christian and children, Luke, Moriah, Brianna, Joseph, and Nathan. Marcus (Jennifer) Christian and daughter Nichole. Aaron (Yesica) Christian and children, Nahomi, Amberlyn, and Chris. Sarah (Daniel) Rhodes and children, Lily, Zachary and Adeline. Caleb (Jessi) Christian and children,Tobias and Kenaniah. Rebekah (Stan) Gardner and children Miles and Baby Gardner. And daughters, Anna and Maria. She is also survived by her mother, Ruth Graves and sisters Beverly (Chris) Ales and Renee (Doug) Barker, as well as many additional loving family members and friends.

Between her dedication to her family and her passion for Christian home education, she was constantly kept busy planning family events and administrating programs to enrich the local homeschool community.

Regina dedicated her life to homeschooling her family and also helping and encouraging other families in their homeschool journey. Chris and Regina were charter members and served on the board of Christian Home Education Fellowship of Alabama from 1988 to 2008. Regina was the Academic Administrator at Ballard Christian School from 1990 to 2021. She founded and led a homeschool enrichment program, Homeschool Connection, for many years. She was also the administrator for the Grace School of Dance ballet program from 2002 to 2021. Charlotte Mason Classical Community, founded in 2017, was her current endeavor to help enrich the local homeschool community.

Regina is predeceased by her father, Carlton Findley, step father, Gam Graves, and many other loving family members.

A graveside service took place at Garden Hills Cemetery in Opelika on Wednesday, Sept. 1, at 2 p.m.
