Special to the
Opelika Observer

Plaid Enterprises, Inc., one of the world’s leading small batch paint manufacturers, recently sent artist in residence and lead painting instructor Andy Jones to work with noted Opelika artist Jo Ann Williams Walker. The pair worked on final testing and formulation of a new paint line for the company called FolkArt Pure Artist Pigments. Jones and Walker set up shop at Opelika’s Art Haus Studio, a nonprofit organization that provides studio space in the Opelika area.
FolkArt Pure Artist Pigments is a line of premium acrylic paint, specifically formulated with the artist in mind. Its heavy- bodied formulation is highly pigmented and blendable, and comes in a beautiful range of traditional artist colors. Pure Pigments will be available this spring both online and at leading retailers to consumers worldwide.
“It was an absolute privilege to work with Jo Ann Williams Walker on this project. I have known her for many years and have always had a deep admiration for her work – she is a truly talented artist. And a special thank you is owed to Art Haus Studio for use of their stunning work space. It truly is an inspiring place to paint,” Jones said.
