Osie “Polly” Long, 79, of Opelika passed away Jan. 26, at EAMC Lanier. Mrs. Long was born Sept. 12, 1941 to Hermie and Willie Cannon in Tallassee, Alabama. A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. on Jan. 29 at Garden Hills Cemetery, with Reverend Earl Ballard officiating.

Mrs. Long is preceded in death by her husband Fredrick Lamar Long; and grandson: Brandon Lamar Ross. Survivors include, children: Sheila (Woody) Ross, Pam (Bryan) Persall, Teresa Felsinger; grandchildren: Daniel Ross, Heather (Cody) Scrimpshire, Jonathon Sweatman, Samatha Sweatman, Kimmy Thompson, Brooke Thompson, Jessie Felsinger, Hope Felsinger; great grandchildren: Peyton Smith, Nolan Smith, Colin Scrimpshire, Aria Scrimpshire, Ollie Van Wettering, Cal DeAngelis, Allie Sandborn, Marshall Sandborn; and a host of cousins and extended family members.  She loved God, Jesus and her family very much. Her favorite saying was “I love you more”.
