Auburn Area Community Theatre (AACT) invites youth ages 13-18 to audition for a parody by Dean O’Carroll: When Sally falls asleep while reading books about a certain juvenile wizard, she dreams that she is a student at Frogbull Academy of Sorcery. But danger is lurking, and it is up to Sally and her new friends Dave and Harmonica to save the day. Will she become the hero like the one in her favorite series? And who is the mysterious Censor who keeps rewriting the story as it goes along? This parody of a certain well-known and well-loved book series will keep you laughing the whole way through.

Auditions for this non-musical will take place on Dec. 7 and 8 from 4-6 p.m. Auditions will be held virtually over Zoom. Those interested should prepare a one-minute comedic monologue. Callbacks, by invitation only, will be held Dec. 9. This show will be directed by Brantley Waller. Brantley is a senior in the Auburn University Theatre department and was assistant director when AACT staged High School Musical last year. Please visit www.auburnact.org to find links to a form that must be filled out for auditions and to sign up for an audition slot. There you will also find audition tips, our rehearsal attendance policy and more.

At this time, in-person rehearsals and performances are planned to take place at the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center with masks and distancing as well as small groups whenever possible. However, alternative virtual rehearsals and performances will be considered and used as needed.
