The Opelika High School track & field team was presented with a state resolution by Representative Jeremy Gray on April 12, commending them for winning the 2020 Indoor State Championship.
“It was a big deal, because for these guys with COVID and everything happening last year, the season got cut short,” said Opelika Varsity Boys’ track & field coach Jimmy Johnson. “When Jeremy contacted us it said ‘hey I want to present ya’ll with this award,’ it was just another thing that said we are who we think we are. Its validating, so that was great.”
