Opelika Rotary sponsored the East Alabama Food Bank’s backpack program at two local schools again this year. The group presented the food bank with a check for $6,545, and was made possible with the community’s support at Burger Wars over the past few years.
Packing night at the food bank is one of Opelika Rotary’s favorite service projects, and it has been able to safely continue this throughout the pandemic. The next packing night will be on Feb. 18 and those interested in learning more about this volunteer opportunity or what else Opelika Rotary does for the community should contact the club for more information.
