Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, the Opelika Police Department handed out cards containing a $100 bill to citizens just in time for Christmas. Over two days, Lt. Kenneth Miller, Lt. Richard Converse, Sgt. Brandon Pettaway and Officer Brandon Johnston distributed twenty cards. The cards were presented to shoppers in local stores and used to pay for groceries at Kroger and meals at two local food service establishments.

“We know 2020 has been a rough year for many and we hope these gifts will assist families and individuals with food or presents this Christmas,” Captain Shane Healey said. “We truly appreciate the citizen who has been allowing us to continue this tradition since 2014.”
