On Friday, June 18, Opelika held its Second Annual Juneteenth celebration from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Event planner Janataka Holmes, as well as the local Black community, were happy with the overwhelming support spreading throughout Opelika. “All I’ve ever wanted to be was a seed planter,” said Holmes. “Nothing more, nothing less.”
