The top-ranked (APDFL) and undefeated Opelika Chiefs ran their season’s record to 8-0 with a decisive 42-0 victory over the Alabama Spartans in Troy last Sat. night. The Chiefs’ team depth showed to great advantage as, in spite of the absence of several key players, they handled the  no. 11 Spartans with relative ease, moving out to a 24-0 half-time lead.
A number of Chiefs fans made the trip to Troy to cheer the Chiefs to victory. Their presence was noted and appreciated by the team.
This week the Chiefs are again on the road, taking on the seventh-ranked Georgia ‘Canes in Marietta, Ga., on Saturday, May 7. They will return home the following week to conclude the regular season with the third-ranked Metro Atlanta Horsemen.
