Local attorney Elijah T. Beaver has announced his campaign to run for Circuit Judge of Alabama’s 37th Judicial Circuit (Lee County). He has been an attorney in Lee County for 13 years, and has also served 11 years in the Alabama Army National Guard as a judge advocate, deploying twice to the Middle East as a military prosecutor.

“I think it’s important for folks to have someone they can absolutely trust on the bench,” Beaver said. “Our judges here in Lee County are without a doubt some of the best in the state, and after prayerful consideration I believe I can continue that tradition.

“I’m a firm believer in the basic conservative Christian values. I think the Constitution and the laws of this country and this state are part of what make this the best place on Earth to be a citizen. That’s true for individuals, for small businesses and for the large entities like Auburn University and East Alabama Medical Center that we have in our circuit. Fair treatment is a fundamental part of our judiciary, and I will work hard to make sure everyone gets treated fairly.”

Beaver, 41, is an Alabama native. He attended Baylor University in Texas before graduating from the University of Alabama School of Law. In addition to practicing law and serving in the National Guard, Beaver volunteers as a scout leader and soccer coach. He, his wife Erin and their four children are members of First Presbyterian Church in Opelika.
