The OMS boys’ soccer team lost to Thompson middle school in Alabaster, on Monday night 4-3.

The match was decided late by a controversial penalty against the Bulldogs, allowing the Warriors from Thompson a penalty kick with only a few minutes left to break the 3-3 tie. The Bulldogs fell behind 2-0 early in the first half, but a goal by Devin Guice cut the lead in half. However, the Warriors came right back to take a 3-1 lead into the half.

The Bulldogs owned most of the second half with great midfield play from Jonathan Bizilia, Braden Holloway, Ben Garner and Rhoman Clarke. J Arthur Grubbs and Devin Guice kept the pressure on the Warrior defense with several shots on goal. Ben Garner was able to beat the Warrior defense twice in the second half tying the score 3-3 with 12 minutes left. Garner’s first goal was assisted by Rohman Clarke.

The Bulldog defense was led again by strong performances from Givon Clarke and Carlos Moran. The Bulldogs were back in action on Wednesday against Auburn at Duck Samford park.
