First year Opelika softball head coach Jessica Thornton held tryouts for the Lady Bulldog softball team last weekend. Opelika finished 9-25 last season (6-2 in region play), and saw head coach Randy Belyeu leave the program after just two years at the helm. Opelika was elminated from the Class 6A Region 04 Area Playoffs by Valley to end to the 2021 season. The Lady Dawgs will look to improve on that mark in year one under Thornton.
