A graveside service was held June 24 at Garden Hills Cemetery with Reverend Tommy Houze officiating.

Mr. Sloan, who died June 21, at EAMC Lanier, was born Dec. 19, 1974, in Opelika, Alabama.

Nicky enjoyed listening to loud music, watching reruns of old movies, and talking to friends and family. He loved football and was a diehard Auburn fan. He grew up loving outside activities such as camping, fishing and going to the beach.

He is survived by his father Ronald Sloan and stepmom Dawn Sloan; siblings: Celena “Quinn” Morgan (Skyler), Charles Sloan (Anna), Maxwell Sloan, Douglas Sloan (Gina); devoted family: aunt Patricia Smith (Jimmy), aunt Joyce Kelley, uncle Richard Sloan (Stacy), uncle Bobby Sloan, aunt Janelle Huddleson (Mike), aunt Myra Maddox, aunt Sherry; cousins: Christy Black with whom he grew up with and was like a sister to him and had many adventures together; Michael Smith who was always there to help in his later years; special friend Tracy Holman that was by his side in childhood and throughout the years and could always make him smile; several cousins, extended family and friends who love him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his mother Juanita Patterson Sloan; grandparents: Douglas and Mary Weldon, Mr. and Mrs. Billy Patterson.
