Mollie Cloud of Opelika was born to the late W.H. & Jewell Morris Strickland of Alpharetta, Georgia on January 21, 1939 and passed peacefully into the presence of Jesus on September 20, 2017. She was 78 years old.
Mollie was a loving mother, “Meme”, sister, aunt, cousin, devoted friend and companion.
Mollie was preceded in death by her late husband, Robert Glenn Cloud.
Mollie is survived by her beloved companion, Hoyt Walker, her children, Eddie (Donna Green) Hall of West Point, Georgia; Valerie (Bruce) Branch of Cumming, Georgia; her siblings Phyllis Strickland (Joe) Vernon of Cleveland, Georgia; and Tommy (Jane) Strickland of Dacula, Georgia; her grandchildren Meghan Hall (Tanner) Hicks of LaGrange, Georgia; and Austin (Emily) Hall of Wilmington, North Carolina; Katelinn and Matthew Branch of Cumming, Georgia; great-grandchildren Katalina Synoground and Talie Hall. Mollie shared a special relationship with her niece and caregiver, Janna Vernon, of Cleveland, Georgia
Mollie was adored by her family and friends who witnessed her extraordinary grace and strength throughout her battle with cancer as she placed her faith and assurance in her Lord Jesus.
Family received friends Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Fredrick-Dean Funeral Home from 12:30 until 2:00 pm CDT with funeral service following in the chapel at 2:00 pm CDT with Dr. Joe Vernon and Reverend Tony Jeck officiated. Interment followed at Garden Hills Cemetery in Opelika.
