Lora Jewel Cagle

A memorial service for Lora Jewel Cagle was held on Friday, October 20, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home. Burial followed at the Garden Hills Cemetery. Pastor R. Keith Elliott officiated. Visitation was held from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
Mrs. Cagle who died on Monday, October 16th, at home, was born on June 28th, 1924 in Marion County, Alabama. She was ninety-three years old. Mrs. Cagle accomplished many things in her life. Though, her main duty was to her family. She was a wife, mother and home-maker.
She and her late husband of 75 years, AJ Cagle, were both co-founders of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Opelika, Alabama. Mrs. Cagle also taught the kindergarten class for the West Point Pepperell School in Opelika, Alabama before establishing a daycare in her home for the many children she cared for.
She was a loving and caring woman who touched many people’s hearts. However, she has been called home to join our Lord in his heavenly home.
Mrs. Cagle is survived by her two daughters, Mavelene Lagrone of Opelika, AL and Julie (Ronald) Hugley of Opelika, AL; her brother, Calvin (Loraine) Lolley of Adrian, MI; her grandchildren, Judy (Ricky) Lynn of Navar, FL, Angela (Rick) Love of Dadeville, AL, Ron Lagrone of Opelika, AL, Joshua Chislom of Opelika, AL, Erin (Devin) Steele of Fort Campbell, Kentucky, Amy Chislom of Opelika, AL, and Ashley Chislom of Auburn, AL; her great- grandchildren, Daniel Love of Dadeville, AL, Nash Love of Dadeville, AL, Alyson Cole of Opelika, AL, Alston Cole of Opelika, AL, Jakob Holland of Auburn, AL, and Kennedy Hughley of Opelika, AL; one great-great-grandchild of Dadeville, AL, Ashton Love; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
