David W. Wilson, Sr

David W. Wilson, Sr., born August 14, 1947, died after a brief battle with cancer on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at his residence in Opelika, AL.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene F. and Ruth Railey Wilson, four brothers, and two sisters. David is survived by his beloved wife and constant companion of 50 years, Judy Motley Wilson; son, David Wayne Wilson Jr. (Shanna) of Opelika; daughter, Jackie Wilson Yarbrough (JW) of Reeltown; three grandchildren, Logan Wilson of Birmingham, Brandy Rooks of Notasulga, and Jake Yarbrough of Reeltown; one great-grandson, JR Rooks; as well as four brothers, one sister, and numerous nieces and nephews.
David, an avid golfer, was a dedicated and loving husband, father, and grandfather, and will be most remembered for his unerring integrity, his generous heart, and for being an exceptional role model.
A graveside service was held at Garden Hills Cemetery in Opelika on Thursday, July 27th at 11:30 a.m. Todd Mitchell and Joseph Wilson officiated.
