NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Opelika will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, October 18, 2016, at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers of the Municipal Building, 204 S. 7th Street, Opelika, Lee County, Alabama.
PURPOSE
The purpose of said Public Hearing will be to consider the adoption of an ordinance to amend Ordinance Number 124-91 (entitled “Zoning Ordinance of the City of Opelika”) adopted on September 17, 1991 and the Zoning Map of the City of Opelika provided for and referred to therein.  At said Public Hearing all who desire to be heard shall have the opportunity to speak for or in opposition to the adoption of the following ordinance:

AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE ZONING
ORDINANCE AND ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF OPELIKA
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council (the “City Council”) of the City of Opelika, Alabama (the “City”) as follows:
Section 1.  That Ordinance No. 124-91 entitled “Zoning Ordinance of the City of Opelika” adopted on September 17, 1991, and the Zoning Map of the City of Opelika provided for and referred to therein, as previously amended and/or modified, be and the same is hereby amended by rezoning or redistricting the parcel of land hereinafter in this section described from one class of district to another class of district as follows:
(a)    From a R-1, GC District (Rural, Gateway Corridor Overlay District) to a C-2, GC District (Office/Retail, Gateway Corridor Overlay District), the parcel of land hereinafter described:
Commence at the northeast corner of Section 15, Township 19 North, Range 27 East, in Lee County, Alabama; thence run due West, 324.7 feet to an iron pin and the point of beginning of the parcel to be described herein.  From said point of beginning, thence run North 32°33’50” East, 101.28 feet to a point; thence run North 89°10’ East, 259.53 feet to a point; thence run South 58°19’ East, 341.14 feet to a point; thence run South 01°52’ West, 899.11 feet to a point on the northerly margin of the right of way of U.S. Highway 280/431 as it was located on August 16, 1982; thence run North 82°58’02” West along said margin, 651.8 feet to a point; thence run North 03°22’03” West, 399.65 feet to a point; thence run North 04°36’52” West, 156.06 feet to a point; thence run North 10°48’59” East, 368.07 feet to the point of beginning; containing 15.608 acres, more or less; subject to all easements and restrictions of record. The above-described parcel is further described as 3000 Columbus Parkway, Opelika, AL.
Section 2.  Any ordinance or part thereof in conflict with provisions of this Ordinance be and the same are hereby repealed.
Section 3.  This Ordinance shall be published one (1) time in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Opelika, Lee County, Alabama.
