NOTICE OF PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING AND PUBLIC HEARINGS
TO: RESIDENTS AND PROPERTY OWNERS OF THE CITY OF OPELIKA AND ALL OTHER INTERESTED CITIZENS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Planning Commission of the City of Opelika, Alabama will hold a regular meeting and will be conducting public hearings on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in the Commission Chambers in the Public Works Administrative Building located at 700 Fox Trail, Opelika, Alabama. The purpose of the public hearings is to receive public comment on the following:
A public hearing on a request by James L. McCrory, authorized representative for Morris Family Partners, LLC, property owner, for preliminary and final plat approval of Morris Family Properties subdivision, Resubdivision of Lots 1,2,3, & 4 consisting of 3 lots at 2707 Rocky Brook Lane and 3000 Hickory Lane.
A public hearing on a request by Kristyna Moore of The Broadway Group LLC, authorized representative for Paul & Beverly Webster for preliminary and final plat approval of the Samford subdivision consisting of two lots at 23 Samford Avenue.
A public hearing on a request by James A. Miller, authorized representative for Dana & Donnie Riddle, property owner, for preliminary and final plat approval of A resubdivision of Lot 2 Roy Riddle Subdivision and Lots 3-A & 3-B Roy Riddle Subdivision, a resubdivision of Lots 3 & 4 consisting of 2 lots at 3138 Lee Road 391.
A public hearing on a request by Don Ketchum, President, of Plainsman Development Inc., property owner, for preliminary plat approval of Foxchase on Emerald Lake, Phase 4 subdivision consisting of 71 lots accessed from 700 block Ski Spray Point.
A public hearing on a request by Barrett-Simpson, Inc., authorized representative for TNT properties and AC Newman, property owners, for preliminary and final plat approval of the Newman subdivision, No. 3, consisting of 2 lots at 1400 block Columbus Parkway.
A public hearing on a request by Randy Wilson, authorized representative for Lee County, property owner, for preliminary and final plat approval of the Lee County Courthouse subdivision consisting of 1 lot at 215 South 9th Street.
A request by Barrett-Simpson, Inc., authorized representative for Chapman H, LLC, property owner, for final plat approval of The Springs at Mill lakes, Phase 4 subdivision consisting of 43 lots at 2800 block of Highway 280.
A request by Joe Waid and Mike Maher authorized representative for Wyndham Properties LLC, property owner, to ratify the administrative subdivision Wyndham Industrial, Third Revision of Lot 2, Redivision of Lot 2-b- 3b consisting of 2 lots located at 3000 Wyndham Industrial Drive.
A public hearing on a request by FTC Investments LLC, property owner, for conditional use approval for a convenience store/gas station at 1400 block Highway 280 East
A public hearing on a request by R. Temple & Jenny Anderson, property owner, for conditional use approval for automobile sales at 305 2nd Avenue.
A public hearing to consider a recommendation to the City Council on the request by Barrett Simpson, Inc., authorized representative for Thompson Carriers, Inc., to rezone 28.9 acres located at 2712 South Uniroyal Road from an R-4M zoning district to a M-1 zoning district.
A public hearing to consider a recommendation to the City Council on the request by Helen V. McConnaughey, of the Pinnacle Design Group, Inc., authorized representative, for Four D’s Real Estate, property owner, to rezone 12.2 acres located at 73A Jeanette Street/221 Veterans Parkway from an R-5M zoning district to a C-3 zoning district.

Amendment to the Future Land Use Map at 2712 South Uniroyal Road, 28.9 acres, from medium density residential land use to manufacturing
Amendment to the Future Land Use Map at 73A Jeanette Street/221 Veterans Parkway, 12.2 acres, from high density residential use to general commercial
A Sketch Plan Review by Mike Maher of Precision Surveying, LLC, authorized representative for the W.B. McGinty Estate consisting of 35 lots on Lee Road 177.
A Sketch Plan Review by Mike Maher of Precision Surveying, LLC., authorized representative for Donna Black of Tiger Town Developers, LLC, property owner, consisting of 81 lots accessed at 1009 Westpoint Parkway
All interested persons are invited to attend the meeting/public hearings and be heard. Written comments concerning the above matters may be mailed to the Planning Director at 700 Fox Trail, Opelika, Alabama 36801 at any time prior to the meeting/public hearings and may be further submitted to the Planning Commission at the meeting/public hearings.
The Planning Commission reserves the right to modify or alter any of the proposed amendments to the Zoning Ordinance and to make its recommendations accordingly to the City Council.
