Want to enjoy some live music on a beautiful spring day in Opelika? Look no further than two of Opelika’s beloved musical traditions, Noon Tunes on the Courthouse Square lawn and Summer Swing at Municipal Park, which began last week.
With shows beginning at noon, Noon Tunes guests can bring their lunch and a blanket to enjoy a free concert every Wednesday during the month of May. This month’s lineup includes the country/rock duo Richard Murray and Rusty Brown on May 10, indie/folk duo Martha’s Trouble on May 17, acoustic soft rock group Muse on May 24 and father/daughter duo Mark Wilson and Jessica Walters performing today’s country hits on May 31.
Summer Swing, held every Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in Municipal Park, is a 13-week concert series featuring jazz, country, gospel and more. In addition to music, hamburgers and hotdogs prepared by the Opelika Band Boosters will be available for purchase, free lemonade provided by Charter Bank and complimentary rides on the recently returned Rocky Brook Rocket.
