The Sixth Annual Nonviolence Peace March and Rally Against Violence in the Community will be held on Aug. 7 at 11 a.m. and will run until 1 p.m. The event will be held at Christian Care Ministries, located at 1000 Samford Court in Opelika.

The march is hosted by Carolyn Morton and the Samford Community Outreach Fellowship Group. Honored guests include the Opelika Police and Fire departments, the Auburn-Opelika Moms Demand Action group and Adiae Harris.

School supplies and snack will be distributed to the children.

The group promotes peace, unity, love and social change. The public is invited. Social distancing will be practiced and the group asks that attendees wear a mask.
