The Lee-Scott Academy boys and girls basketball teams kicked off their season with impressive wins at home last Thursday night against Eastwood Christian School.

The boys struggled a bit at first but turned it on in the second half to put together a 91-67 win. The girls had a stellar offensive and defensive game to win 61-8.

Junior MarQuen Mitchell highlighted the boys’ team with 27 points, 12 rebounds, and six assists. Seniors Hasten Williams and Chris Garner also contributed heavily with Williams going for 26 points with six rebounds and Garner compiling up 18 points and five assists.

The defending AISA AAA state champs, Lee-Scott Academy girls team, didn’t miss a beat as they win easily. Junior Ali Rabren led the Warriors with 17 points followed by Breanne DeBaets with 10 points and nine rebounds.

Sophomores Hayden Robinson and Madison Prewett led the team in steals as Robinson had seven and Prewett finished the night with eight.
