Medicare Open Enrollment will begin Oct. 15 and run through Dec. 7.
A number of opportunities will be offered “that beneficiaries may attend to receive free counseling, education and information for everything concerning Medicare,” according to Amber Bean, state health insurance assistance program coordinator for the Lee Russell Council of Governments. “Beneficiaries can either attend one of the events listed or call our office toll free at 1-800-243-5463 to schedule an appointment,” Bean said.

– Oct. 15, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. EST; Central Activity Center, 1500 14th St., Phenix City
– Oct. 21, 1-3 p.m. EST; Goodwill Career Center, 1041 E 280 Bypass, Phenix City
