The national NAACP Board of Directors approved reinstatement of Lee County Branch #5038 on July 25, 2020.  The Membership Department is processing memberships for those who joined to reactivate our branch and will forward cards to members at the address given when dues were paid. A Nominating Committee will be formed to submit a written report of nominees for the election of officers. An Election Supervisory Committee will be elected to supervise the election. The election of officers process will start within the next month.

The ultimate goal of Lee County Branch #5038 is to become the best branch in Alabama in terms of ensuring the political, educational, social and economic equality of all citizens and end discrimination.  The first two planned initiatives toward achieving our goal are the ACT-SO program and reinstatement of the NAACP Auburn University Student Branch #5700.  ACT-SO is a yearlong achievement program designed to recruit, stimulate, and promote high academic and cultural achievement among African-American high school students.

All Lee County citizens are welcome and encouraged to join NAACP Lee County Branch #5038.  For additional information, please contact John A. Harris (334-734-3302) or Billy U. Allen (770-879-5386).
