Mary Jeanette Arwood, age 75, passed away peacefully Sunday, Nov. 7, 2021. She was born Sept. 1, 1946 in Opp, Alabama, to Elmer and Sally Lee.

She worked at Fairfax Mill for 20-plus years and then later became a Nurse Aide. She loved to help take care of people, especially the elderly.

Jeanette was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as a Nana. She had the biggest heart and personality. She always made people around her laugh and feel loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Sally Lee; brothers, George, Ray and Sterling Lee; sister-in-law, Brenda Lee.

She is survived by her husband, James Arwood; children, Jimmy Arwood, Todd (Audra) Arwood, Denise (Randy) Hadaway, and Blake (Anita) Arwood; 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; sister, Jean (Jerry) Varnum, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.

Visitation was held in the Parlor at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2021 from 10 to 11 a.m.

Graveside service was held at Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 10,  with Rev. Russell DeLee officiating.
