A friend has a loved one incarcerated at the Lee County Detention Center. She does not drive anymore, so I told her that I would set up a visitation and take her for a visit.
To my surprise you have to go online and set up a visit. The first visit is free, then it’s $7.50 per visit thereafter. I’ve never heard of having to pay to visit a loved one that is incarcerated. Does the public incur that expense?
She does not have a computer, nor knows how to operate one. Isn’t there a system still in place so a visitor and inmate can visit face-to-face?
Are there others that have the same dilemma? Looking for a solution to already divided family. They need that special look, touch or encouraging word to keep their spirits up.
