The Lee County Humane Society is gearing up for their first “family reunion” on June 25 at Kiesel Park from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. The event is a gathering of all of LCHS’s alumni and their owners to celebrate the pets finding their forever homes. There will be food vendors on site, including O Town Ice Cream. There will also be a photo booth set up for families and pets. Sponsors include Ebony’s Pet Care and John Killmaster State Farm. According to Ausu Anaraki, public relations director for LCHS, the event is expected to have a good turn- out with tons of fun for pets and their old friends.
In another “alumni” event on June 18, LCHS will offer owners of its former residents to bring their pets in for a portrait by a professional pet photographer. The fee is $35 and will include a 10 minute session and two high quality digital prints. “Actually, the pet doesn’t have to be an LCHS alum. Anyone can come have a portrait made,” Anaraki said. There is a two pet limit per session, and photos will be taken from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. The top 12 alumni pets who raise the most money for LCHS will get to have their own month on the 2017 LCHS calendar.
