Jonee Elaine Moreman, age 66, was welcomed into the loving arms of her heavenly Father on Oct. 14, 2021, at her home in Opelika. While she will be greatly missed by her family and friends, all who knew and loved Jonee will remember her as a woman with a big spirit who loved her family fiercely. 

Jonee was born on Sept. 4, 1955, in Opelika, to the late Mary Lee Davis (Sanders) and the late Henry Grady Moreman, Jr. of Lafayette, Alabama. She graduated from Chambers Academy in Lafayette, in 1974. She worked in banking for over 20 years, yet was always a devoted and active mother. She was known to be an avid gardner who had a green thumb and always had a beautiful yard. 

Jonee is survived by her children Whitney (Curt) Nelson of Goodhue, Minnesota; Davis (Courtney) Lambert of Auburn; two grandchildren: Hamilton and Charlee Lambert; brother Bob (Connie) Gay of Cusseta, Alabama; brother Sonny (Joan) Moreman of Auburn; lifelong family friend Debbi Gammon Ford of Opelika; countless nieces & nephews and Don (Joanne) Lambert (known as “Nana” & “Papa” by her children & grandchildren) of Foley, Alabama. She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry Grady Moreman, Jr. and Mary Lee Davis Sanders of Lafayette.

A celebration of Jonee’s life was held on Sunday, Oct. 17, at Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home Chapel in Opelika. Pastor Tim Thompson officiated and Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home directed.

In lieu of flowers, those desiring to make a memorial donation in Jonee’s name can be made to the Lee County Humane Society.
