The chains are broken, and Auburn’s first Juneteenth celebration gathered in Sam Harris Park. On Saturday, June 19, Mayor Anders signed a proclamation recognizing Juneteenth as a national holiday. When signing, Anders said he could not wait to “move forward as a better and tighter … community.”
