Huey Long Strickland of Opelika was born in Mashulville, Mississippi to the late Wilbur and Lottie Foster Strickland on May 24, 1936 and passed away at East Alabama Medical Center on Feb. 9, 2021. He was 84 years old.
Huey was preceded in death by a grandson; great granddaughter; two brothers and four.
He is survived by his wife, Lettie Mae Strickland; son, Michael Strickland; daughter, Deborah A. Hollingsworth (Mark); grandchildren, Diana Atkins (Stephen); John Strickland, Nathan Hollingsworth (Kara), and Daniel Hollingsworth; 9 great grandchildren, and brother, Marlin Strickland (Mamie).
A graveside service was held in Garden Hills Cemetery on Feb. 13, 2021 at 3 p.m. with Dr. Rusty Sowell officiating.
