Harry Allen Horn passed away on Thursday, Aug. 19, 2021 in Opelika, Alabama. He was born in Floyd County, Kentucky, on Dec. 23, 1938, to the late Bascom Horn and Opal Sparks Horn. Harry was a proud US Army veteran having served one deployment in Korea and two in Vietnam. After his military service he worked until retirement at Uniroyal in Opelika.

Harry was preceded in death by his beloved wife Ella Janet Freeman Horn as well as a son Mike Thompson, both of Opelika. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Arnold Horn, Jerome Horn, Harrison Horn, Darrell Horn as well as sisters Sharon Horn, Alma Jean Horn and sisters-in-laws Susan Horn and Janet Horn.

Harry is survived by daughters Jan (Steve) Lipham and Debra (Mike) Bennett, son Van Thompson and a daughter-in-law Diane Thompson. He is also survived by grandchildren Jeff (Deana) Thompson, Carrie (Matt) Ryan, Jared (Abby) Hilyer, Shelley Young, Natalie (Aaron) Warren, and Katie Caroline (Murphy) Klumpp. His surviving brothers are Bascom Horn, Archer Horn and sister-in-law Kay Horn as well as a host of great and great, great grandchildren.

The graveside service was held at Garden Hills Cemetery at 10 a.m. on Aug. 24, 2021 with Reverend Earl Ballard officiating. Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral  Home directed.
