Hundreds of positions available from region’s top employers

During the current climate, Goodwill Southern Rivers (Goodwill) remains dedicated to putting America back to work through free career services, training and connections to jobs. A busy week is ahead for the Goodwill Career Center in Opelika, as hundreds of jobs will be available at two different events coming up this week Feb.18.

Employers in attendance at the Feb. 18 hiring event: Lowe’s, GFA Alabama and Aramark.

•  Lowe’s is looking to fill over 100 positions in the Opelika and Columbus markets while offering competitive wages, opportunities for growth and employee discounts.

•  GFA Alabama, Inc., a leading transportation service provider, is hiring for multiple first and second shift positions.

•  Aramark has part-time and full-time positions available ranging from food service to general utility.

Employers in attendance at the Feb. 23 hiring event: Lowe’s, Malone Staffing and Mando.

•  Lowe’s is looking to fill over 100 positions in the Opelika and Columbus markets while offering competitive wages, opportunities for growth and employee discounts.

•  Malone Staffing is hiring for production workers, assemblers, quality inspectors and machine operators at the Kia West Point Assembly Plant. Over 100 positions available with competitive wages and rotating schedules and shifts.

•  Mando is looking to fill over 30 positions with offers being made on the spot at the hiring event. Mando is also a second-chance employer with benefits and tuition reimbursement available.

Job seekers attending the hiring event should come dressed for success and ready to interview with updated copies of their resume in hand. Individuals are also encouraged to visit the Opelika Career Center on Pepperell Parkway and take advantage of the free career-readiness classes that include resume building, interview skills and many other skills workshops. The event is free and open to the public. Safety guidelines will be in place with increased sanitization of high-touch areas, social distancing and encouraging the wearing of masks.

The events are at the Opelika Goodwill Career Center (3740 Pepperell Parkway in Opelika) on Feb. 18 and Feb. 23 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
