Elmer Butler of Salem, Alabama was born in Dublin, Georgia on Aug. 25, 1951 to the late Maldolin Elmer Butler and Beneta Perry Butler, he passed away at his home on July 24, 2021. He was 69 years old.

He was a Georgia native and loved the Atlanta Braves but “his home was in Alabama”. He managed A&P Grocery Store for 25 years and then Premium Beverage for another 25 years until retiring in 2013 to tend his donkeys, cows and chickens that he loved dearly. And to spend more time pursuing his other lifelong passions of hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Dolly Baker Butler, and his three children: Jennifer Wild (“Jc”), Bonnie Grizzard (Billy), Karl Butler (Amanda).

He is also survived by his brother, Eddie Butler; his sister, Beneta Haywood (Al); eight grandchildren: Carlton and Madison, Chip, Chase, Chad and Emma Ruth and Katy and Layton; two great grandchildren, Melinee and Carson, and numerous nieces and nephews and other family members. And his best friend/Brother in Law, Freddie Baker.

Visitation was held Wednesday, July 28, 2021 in the Parlor at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home.
