Opelika Mayor Gary Fuller announced today that an existing Opelika manufacturing company — Cumberland Plastic Solutions — will be expanding.

“We congratulate Cumberland Plastic Solutions on this expansion,” said Fuller. “We very much appreciate them and the great jobs they have created here in Opelika.”

Cumberland will be adding a major addition to its existing facility, which will increase its manufacturing capabilities. Cumberland Plastics is widely recognized as a leading supplier of value-added injection molded plastic parts and assemblies. Some of the industry sectors it serves include automotive, recreation, lawn and garden, agriculture and general industrial/commercial.

Cumberland will invest an additional $2.6 million in capital and create 10 new jobs at the completion of this new expansion. Cumberland is a locally-owned and operated company that has found great success competing in the global marketplace.

“It is always great when an existing industry announces an expansion and is continuing to invest in our community,” said the city of Opelika Economic Development Director Lori Huguley.
