Cara Hathcock, owner of Crowned Boutique, has always been interested in fashion, and in Oct. 2018, Hathcock started her own boutique online while making shipments all over the country.
Crowned Boutique officially opened its storefront location, located in downtown Opelika at 824 Avenue A, on May 19.
“It was always my dream to have my own storefront, and I am so excited to be fulfilling that dream,” said Hathcock.
“I chose downtown Opelika for a few reasons. It’s such a fun spot, it has a great atmosphere and has so many other great qualities,” added Hathcock. “I love how the downtown businesses collaborate and work together to create fun options and outings as well… I was very excited when this spot opened, and I feel that it fits what my vision for a Crowned storefront looked like.”
Crowned is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The boutique provides a fun, feminine style with options that are great for work or for the weekend with sizes ranging from small to 3XL.
“We offer a subscription box that has a fun outfit with great basics each quarter (there is also a monthly option as well). The subscription box is a great way to try styles that you may not pick out for yourself. It’s one of my favorite options that we offer. Our subscription boxes start at $35 and go up to $65. I love accessories and gifts and we have jewelry, hats, bags and even some household items. We also offer a great candle line that we are the exclusive provider for in this area,” Hathcock added.
Crowned is taking extra precautions to make sure they have a safe shopping environment for their customers. For those who may not be ready to shop in person, there are options to shop online at wearcrowned.com, schedule personal shopping appointments or virtually.
“I really want to provide a warm, welcoming shopping experience… I love putting outfits together and helping women feel beautiful in their clothing,” Hathcock said. “I’m so thankful that we are located in downtown Opelika and we are so excited to meet the community!”
