For those of us holding out hope for rain, we may be in luck Monday and Tuesday. The last measurable rain was 26 days ago, and while this forecast won’t be a drought buster it will be a welcome relief to Opelika.

Rain chances increase Tuesday and into Wednesday with a passing cold front that will bring additional moisture behind the front as opposed to the usual dry pattern after a passing front.
Opelika is in the “slight risk” category for severe weather with this front, but the focus is on a forecast calling for nearly two inches of rain between Monday and Wednesday.
Once the cold front passes through, daytime highs will struggle to reach 60 degrees and evening lows will dip into the 40’s.
