NOTICE OF PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING AND PUBLIC HEARINGS

TO:  RESIDENTS AND PROPERTY OWNERS OF THE CITY OF OPELIKA AND ALL OTHER INTERESTED CITIZENS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Planning Commission of the City of Opelika, Alabama will hold a regular meeting and will be conducting public hearings on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. in the Commission Chambers in the Public Works Administrative Building located at 700 Fox Trail, Opelika, Alabama.  The purpose of the public hearings is to receive public comment on the following:

A public hearing on a request by City of Opelika for preliminary and final plat approval of Power District subdivision, Revision of Lots 4, 1A of Totten’s Map, consisting of 2 lots located at 1015 Avenue B.

A public hearing on a request by James McCrory for preliminary and final plat approval of Cedar Creek subdivision, Revision of Lot 14 & 15-Phase 1A, consisting of 2 lots located at 600/602 Hillflo Avenue.

A public hearing on a request by Joshua L. Howard for preliminary and final plat approval of Pride of Pepperell Phase 1 subdivision, Revision to Lot 2, consisting of 3 lots located at 2295 First Avenue.

A public hearing on a request from Brian Lee authorized representative for Saucier Investments, LLC for a conditional use permit to operate a new wholesale & warehouse HVAC equipment/parts business at the premises located at 2295 First Avenue.

A public hearing on a request from PHD Hotels, Inc. /Tom Hunt authorized representative for Opelika Land and Timber, Inc., for a conditional use permit to operate a new hotel at the premises located at 3150 Capps Way.

A public hearing on a request from Eddie Jackson, property owner, for a conditional use permit to operate a new Commercial building business at the premises located at 313 North 24th Street.

A public hearing to consider a recommendation to the City Council on the request by the City of Opelika & Marsh Real Estate Investments LLC, 1015 Avenue B, 1010 Avenue C, & 405 South 10th Street, Total of 3.3 acres, from C-2 zone to C-1                                              CITY OF OPELIKA

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Planning Commission of the City of Opelika, Alabama will hold a regular meeting and will be conducting a public hearing on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. in the Commission Chambers in the Public Works Administrative Building located at 700 Fox Trail, Opelika, Alabama.  The purpose of the public hearing is to receive public comment on the following:

A public hearing to consider a recommendation to the City Council on proposed amendments to the “Opelika Comprehensive Plan 2020”. The purpose of the said amendments concern a five-year review in order to update long-range (15 years) major needs in five year intervals (2020/2015/2030) based on population projections and anticipate future infrastructure, major construction projects, and equipment expenditures so the projected major needs are planned for Opelika by 2030. The said adopted plan is called “Opelika Master Plan 2030”.

All interested persons are invited to attend the meeting/public hearings and be heard.  Written comments concerning the above matters may be mailed to the Planning Director at 700 Fox Trail, Opelika, Alabama 36801 at any time prior to the meeting/public hearings and may be further submitted to the Planning Commission at the meeting/public hearings.

The Planning Commission reserves the right to modify or alter any of the proposed amendments to the Zoning Ordinance and to make its recommendations accordingly to the City Council.
