Cornerstone Family Chiropractic will host its 6th annual back-to-school bash Aug. 19 from 3-6 p.m. Nearly 40 local businesses will partner with Cornerstone to provide food, games and door prizes for the event.
“We’ve had about 1,000 or more people come the last five years to this event, but we’re expecting somewhere in the neighborhood of 1,500 this year,” said Cornerstone assisitant Lauren Parker.
Although the event serves as a “community-gelling event,” according to Parker, it also serves a greater purpose. The proceeds raised will be donated to the Big House Foundation, which is an organization that helps foster children and families in Lee County. “Most of the businesses that are partnering up with us will have booths set up … which costs them $50. The event is free to the public, but they can donate if they want to,” Parker said. “One-hundred percent of the proceeds go to the Big House Foundation, which is an organization dedicated to helping foster families in the area.”
