A graveside service for Mr. Benjamin Ashmore, 58, of Opelika was held at 1 p.m. on Feb. 4, 2021 at Fitten Chapel AME Zion Church Cemetery. Rev. Mary Robinson officiated.
Mr. Ashmore passed away on Jan. 29, 2021 at Magnolia Haven Nursing Home in Tuskegee. He was a member of Fitten Chapel AME Zion Church.
He is survived by: two sisters, Sharon A. (Robert) Edwards and Annie J. Ashmore both of Opelika; four brothers, James E. (Leola) Ashmore, Reginald L. Ashmore, Winford L. Ashmore and Vantrell L. Ingram all of Opelik; four aunts, Queen Ester Pollard of Opelika, AL, Marjorie Burnette of Atlanta, GA, Maxine Shelton of Dallas, Texas and Ethel M. Nelms of Auburn; two uncles, Lindsey Ingram, Sr. of Opelika, and Charlie Ingram of Dallas; one great aunt, Enthy Jackson of Opelika; three nephews, Octavius D. (Colanda) Bullard of Auburn, Elmarco F. Edwards and Maurice Ashmore both of Opelika; four nieces, Tammy Edwards, Kayla Thomas, Qayla Thomas and Tamika Thomas all of Opelika; three great nieces and four great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
