The area’s top chefs and restaurants are putting their best burgers to the test this May in a new competition: introducing Burger Battles!
In honor of Burger Wars, Opelika’s annual burger grilling competition coming up on June 5, Auburn-Opelika Tourism has expanded the competition. The public will decide the grand champion when they vote for their favorites throughout the month of May.
Beginning May 1 through June 5, patrons can dine at participating restaurants during normal business hours, order the featured burger, and vote for their favorites on Auburn-Opelika Tourism’s social pages. Be sure to follow @AuburnOpelika on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter to cast your vote.
Participants include Zazu Gastropub, Auburn Plaza, The Waverly Local, Robs Ribs, Bow & Arrow, The Hound, Lucy’s, Acre, La Cantina, Café 123 and Niffer’s.
The 11 burgers will go head-to-head in Burgers Battles. Is your mouth watering yet? Many of the participating restaurants use locally sourced ingredients from the beef to the bacon to the made-from-scratch aioli.
