Mark your calendars for the Auburn Opelika Running and Track Association’s (AORTA) 21st Annual Tough Ten/Tough Two race on Oct. 24. The event is held in memory of Dr. Nicholas “Nick” Holler, a beloved community leader and avid runner. Online registration is open now through Oct. 22. Same-day registration will be open the morning of Oct. 24.

The race will begin and end at the corner of Ogletree Village in Auburn. Participants can register to run, jog or walk a scenic 10-mile or 2-mile route down Ogletree Road, into the Grove Hill neighborhood and returns to Ogletree Village.

In order to provide a safe race-day experience for all participants, runners and spectators are asked to wear a mask to the start line and review the wave start schedule prior to race day. A disposable mask will be provided to runners at the finish line. Awards will be announced on the AORTA website after the race, and winners will be contacted to accept their award. It is very important to include your contact information when registering for the event.

All proceeds will benefit the East Alabama Medical Center’s Foundation for Breast Cancer Early Detection. The Breast Cancer Early Detection Center provides free mammogram screenings for women who are uninsured, as well educates women in our community regarding the benefits of breast self-examination and annual screenings.
