Captain Noah Allmond was recognized as Opelika Fire Department’s 2021 Firefighter of the Year last week. Nominees for 2021 were: A-Shift – Firefighter Taylor Mitcham, B-Shift – Captain Noah Allmond, C-Shift – Firefighter/Medic Kevin Swatts. Captain Allmond has the distinction of being a two-time recipient of this award, having previously won the honor in 2016. He is an 18-year veteran of the department.
“Captain Allmond represents the department, city and fire service in the best possible way, making everyone who knows him proud to be in his company,” said B-Shift Battalion Chief Dennis Hanson. The OFD would like to thank the Opelika Exchange Club for its sponsorship of this award.
